Policies That Ensure Comfort & Care

Understanding the policies that help us provide exceptional care for every resident.

1. Emerald Isle Senior Living, Uttan is administered by Roland and Rinnet Creado. The home is open to senior citizens, including both individuals and couples, who wish to enjoy a peaceful, loving, secure, and hassle-free retirement lifestyle.

2. At the time of admission, two close relatives or guardians of the resident must complete and sign the admission form as nominees, guarantors, and guardians to ensure proper communication, security, and continuity of care.

3. A one-time admission fee and a non-refundable admission deposit must be paid at the time of admission. This amount covers administrative and infrastructure expenses and is strictly non-refundable. Any refundable security deposit, if applicable, will be returned within two months from the date of discharge, subject to applicable deductions.

4. Monthly charges must be paid within seven (7) days from the beginning of each month. If a resident chooses to leave temporarily or permanently before the end of the month, no refund of the monthly charges shall be made.

5. Guardians or close relatives are expected to visit the resident at least once every month. They are welcome to spend quality time with the resident or take them home for a few days, subject to prior approval and any applicable additional charges.

6. Family members are encouraged to bring refreshments or treats when visiting their loved ones. They are also welcome to share snacks or eatables with other residents, if they wish.

7. Residents or their families may express their gratitude to staff members through gifts or monetary appreciation, provided it is done with the prior knowledge and approval of the management.

8. At the time of admission, residents must bring all their personal belongings and daily essentials, including clothing, toiletries, footwear, woollen garments, and any other personal requirements.

9. Every resident is expected to treat fellow residents, staff, and management with kindness, courtesy, and respect at all times.

10. Residents are advised not to keep valuables such as jewellery, cash, or other expensive items on the premises. The management shall not be responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of such belongings. Mobile phones may be used at the resident's own responsibility.

11. The Home shall provide care and assistance to residents for as long as they remain medically and physically fit to reside within the facility.

12. While every reasonable care will be taken for the well-being of residents, the management shall not be held responsible for accidents, falls, illnesses, or unforeseen medical conditions. Basic healthcare support and assistance will be provided whenever required.

13. The Home offers recreational facilities including indoor games, a television lounge, library, landscaped gardens, and a swimming pool for the enjoyment of residents.

14. Residents wishing to voluntarily discontinue their stay must provide the management with two (2) months' written notice prior to discharge.

15. The management reserves the right to terminate the residency of any resident without assigning any reason. In such cases, one (1) month's prior written notice will be provided.

16. Before admission, residents may be required to undergo a medical examination at an authorised medical centre recommended by the management in Mumbai or Thane. Applicants must be free from contagious or infectious diseases and any other medical conditions or habits that may affect communal living. Admission shall be granted solely at the discretion of the management committee.

17. In the event of an emergency or hospitalisation, the management may arrange admission to a hospital based on the recommendation of the attending doctor. All medical, hospitalisation, transportation, and related expenses shall be borne entirely by the resident or their guardian. The management will notify the guardian at the earliest opportunity, following which the guardian shall assume responsibility for further care and treatment.

18. Residents will be served standard meals in the common dining area. Special meals based on personal preferences cannot be provided, except where medically prescribed.

19. Residents are requested to submit a copy of their Will, if available, for record purposes.

20. The Home provides basic furniture as part of the accommodation. Any additional furniture or facilities, including cupboards, tables, beds, or additional electricity usage, shall be provided at an extra cost.

21. Consumption or possession of alcohol, tobacco, smoking materials, narcotic substances, or the practice of cooking within the rooms is strictly prohibited.

22. Residents are expected to maintain cleanliness within their rooms and the surrounding premises. Radios, televisions, music systems, and other electronic devices must be used at a reasonable volume and only during permitted hours so as not to disturb other residents.

23. Residents wishing to leave the premises temporarily must obtain prior permission from the management, specify their expected return time, and deposit their room key before leaving. Any resident leaving without informing the management shall do so entirely at their own risk. Such incidents may be reported to the resident's guardian and, if necessary, to the nearest police station.

24. If the panel doctors recommend consultation with an external specialist or hospitalisation, it shall be the responsibility of the resident's guardian to arrange and facilitate the same.

25. In the unfortunate event of the death of a resident, the family members and guardians will be informed immediately. The mortal remains shall be handed over to the family, who shall be responsible for completing all legal formalities, including obtaining the medical death certificate, police clearance (where applicable), and registration of the death with the concerned municipal authorities. The Home may assist the family if requested. If no family member or guardian responds within 24 hours, the management, after informing the appropriate authorities, reserves the right to proceed with the last rites or disposal of the body in accordance with the applicable laws.
